PROFILE OF THE INSTITUTION

Physico-Mechanical Institute has practical developments in the field of metal corrosion and its corrosion-protection of metals. There are, in particular, the technologies and equipment for prolongation life time of machine parts, restoration and corrosion protection of metal constructions. The activity of “Gazotermic” venture is related with development, production, manufacturing application and realization of technological processes, materials and equipment for surface strengthening, protection and restoration of elements, products and constructions, preparation of corresponding design and manufacturing documentation.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

In 2007-2008 services were rendered to about 120 enterprises of the region, in particular to “Lvivagromash”, ”Lvivelektrotans”, “Ukravtobusprom”, ”Boryslav¬naftogaz”, ”Lviv chemical plant”, “Lvivvodokanal”, “Shakhtospetsmontazh”, Dobrotvir and Burshtyn HPP, etc.

BASIC SUGGESTIONS

Development and production of the complex of moving equipment for obtaining electric-arc corrosion- and wear resistant coatings in industry are proposed. Physico-Mechanical Institute and SSV “Gazotermik” of NASU suggest to organize a serial production of equipment (metallizators) for application of electric-arc coatings on different elements, including large-scale structures. Application of large-scale metallizators allows to obtain coatings with improved corrosion- and abrasive resistance, to decrease the roughness of aluminium and zinc coatings from Rz – 50-60 μm to Rz – 40-45 μm, that gives a 20-30% decreases of paint expenditure for the next paint coating, to obtain wear-resistant coatings from powder wire that gives a 2-3 – fold increase of the operation life of heating elements of HPP boilers.

EXPECTED FORMS OF CO-OPERATION

Expected investment is 80 thousand US dollars and also co-operation in selling finished products and rendering services.

EXPECTED RESULTS

Organizing a serial production and selling of the equipment for corrosion protection of metal structures like reservoirs, metal elements of car and railway bridges, bracing members of mobile communication towers, automobile transport, heat power plants, gas-compressing stations. The enterprises of “Ukrzaliznytsia”, Ministry of fuel, municipal services of Ukraine and many other, namely “Zakhidenergo” , State electricity company, “Ukrgazenergoservis” enterprises are interested in implementation of the developed metallizators.
Expected pay-back period of the project is 2-3 years.
