Scientific Workshop “The seventh Framework Programme of the European Union: the new opportunities for international cooperation”


Scientific Workshop aimed at participation of Ukrainian research organizations in Seventh Framework Programme on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) will be held in Kharkov on 18-21 May.
Workshop is organized by ISTOK-SOYUZ and SCUBE-ICTprojects under support of the Seventh Framework Programme.
Workshop is linked to the International Conference «Computer Modeling in Science-Intensive Technologies», organized by the Faculty of Computer Science of the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Information about the 7FP ISTOK-SOYUZ project:
The project is implemented by the international consortium of partners from seven countries - Germany, France, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
Center «Kharkov Technologies» is Ukrainian partner of ISTOK-SOYUZ
Project falls under category "Support Action".
Start date of the project: 01.01. 2009. Duration - 30 months.
Target audience of the project - national ICT stakeholders, information and communication technologies market players, research organizations and IT-companies.
The project has the following objectives:
informing ICT-community about the opportunities provided by EU 7 Framework Programme;
extending the scope of cooperation between Ukraine and EU countries in ICT-related research;
carry out activities aimed at increasing the participation of Ukrainian researchers in EU 7FP;
raising awareness of EU ICT community on competencies of Ukrainian research teams and their ideas for potential projects;
supporting Ukrainian research teams in their participation in joint Seventh Framework Programme ICT projects.
 
Information about 7FP SCUBE-ICT project:
The project is implemented by the international consortium of partners from seven countries - Greece, England, Spain, Belarus, Ukraine.
Project falls under category "Support Action”
Start date of the project: 01.01. 2009. Duration - 24 months.
Target audience of the project - research organizations, industry groups, legislators and policy makers, national ICT associations, research and industrial institutions, etc., international cooperation support organizations, the official groups (eg, Enterprise Europe Network - EEN), Research projects EU in ICT (eg, Joint Technology Initiatives, Networks of Excellence in ICT, and other networks for the exchange of experience)

The project has the following objectives:
development of mutually beneficial partnerships between ICT researchers from Ukraine, Belarus and from the European Union (EU)
detailed assessment of the cooperation potential between EU, Belarus and Ukraine in the field of ICT
increase number of joint research and development of ICT organizations from Ukraine, Belarus and the EU
establishing a Dialogue on research and development in ICT field between key stakeholders from the EU, Belarus and Ukraine
